TRW further developed its earlier Science & Applications Manned Space Platform concept under the August 1982 NASA contract. The illustration depicts a large 10-12 man space station for the year 2000. Such facilities could serve as a “space harbor” for the assembly of large spacecraft. Like the other contractors, TRW assumed the space station would grow and evolve gradually as more funding becomes available.
